When the Madison Bumgarner-led San Francisco Giants beat the Kansas City Royals in Game Seven back in 2014, most Bay Area sports fans were tuned out to the fact that the Golden State Warriors also won that night in a 95-77 rout of the Sacramento Kings. The same Warriors team that won their first championship in 40+ years only eight months later.

Following the San Jose Sharks's 3-1 loss to the Pittsburg Penguins, yesterday could have been just the day the Bay Area needed to recover. The Warriors were at home up 3-1 looking to finish off the Finals at home and become the first Bay Area team in what has seemed like forever to win a championship at home.

Unfortunately, LeBron, Kyrie, and co. decided to delay the party, dropping 41 points each to beat the Warriors in a rare home loss 112-97. With a loss like that, it was nice to know the Giants were there to pour in the runs and bring home a win.

The skateboarding dog was pretty awesome too.

The Giants come into tonight's game winners of three straight, including two against the Los Angeles Dodgers. While it took three games for the Giants to score nine runs in the series against the Dodgers, it only took one game against the Brewers for the Giants to score eleven.

Yesterday's offensive explosion against Milwaukee was similar to Opening Day, where the Giants scored 12 runs against the Brewers, including the back-to-back-to-back home runs off the bat of Denard Span, Joe Panik, and Buster Posey. In 2016, the Giants are averaging seven runs per game against Brewer pitching.

Tonight, Madison Bumgarner looks to continue his best season to date. In his previous outing against the Red Sox, Bumgarner took a no-decision against the Boston Red Sox, allowing one run over six innings while striking out five.

His performance marked his 10th consecutive quality start, dating back to April 20th. In total, 11 of Bumgarner's 13 starts have been considered quality starts, a testament to his tremendous year.

Bumgarner carried the momentum of a great May into June, and two starts in he is boasting a 0.66 ERA.

Matt Garza will be making his first start of 2016 for the Brewers following a right lat strain which landed him on the 60-day disabled list.

In three Class-A rehab starts, Garza was 0-2 with a 4.76 ERA, striking out 10 in 11.1 innings. In his career against the Giants, Garza is 1-2 with a 4.58 ERA, his last win coming in 2011.

Collectively, the Giants don't haven't had too many at-bats against Garza, but there is a little bit of history. Span has three hits in eight at-bats, Brandon Crawford has two hits in four at-bats, Posey has one in five, and Brandon Belt is 0 for 6.
